List Management

New Feature: My Lists

We’re pleased to introduce My Lists, a new feature designed to simplify list management and enhance your firm’s ability to organize and access contact lists and other lists within Nexl. This feature makes it easier than ever to create, find, and manage the lists that matter most.

Feature Highlights:

  • Centralized List Management: Access and organize all your important lists in one convenient place.

  • Improved Searchability: Quickly find specific contacts and other lists, streamlining workflows and saving time.

New Feature: Contact Exclusion Rules

We have introduced Contact Exclusion Rules to complement Company exclusions, allowing for more granular control in your logic. These rules enable you to set conditions based on specific Contact data managed in custom fields, such as Contact Type. Additionally, with Contact rules, you can establish exclusion criteria related to specific Marketing List Categories.

Other Improvements:

  • Introduced configurable exclusion rules for contact lists, enabling automated exclusion based on standard or custom fields. This improves compliance, data quality, and efficiency.

  • Improved contact-adding workflows with a new "shopping cart" concept, allowing easier addition of contacts across paginated lists.

  • Added "Last Interaction Date" to Marketing List exports for consistency with contact list exports.

  • Enhanced the contact-adding experience with clearer list names, refined filtering, larger modal sizes, and improved search guidance.

  • Private contacts are now hidden from shared views and "Add Contacts" pages/modals to enhance privacy.

  • Introduced a visible indicator for lists with "Enable duplicate contacts" enabled, which is retained when the list is cloned.

Bugs:

  • Resolved an issue where the "Add to List" button was not visible on certain screen sizes and zoom levels.

  • Fixed a bug preventing data display when renaming columns in a contact list. This fix applies to both existing and new lists.


EMS (Email Management System)

Improvements:

  • Ensured EMS sender email interactions are now excluded from "Who Knows" and engagement graphs, preserving accurate data for contact interactions.

  • Added recommended dimensions for cover photos, reducing cropping issues and reflecting changes in the status for photo updates.

Bugs:

  • Fixed an issue where contacts with an updated status from "unsubscribed" to another state did not receive emails.

  • Fixed a bug where consent status updates from "unsubscribe" to other states were not reflected in the backend.

  • Fixed a bug with campaign cancellations involving large lists to prevent timeouts and added visual feedback during the process.

  • Resolved an issue where cancelling scheduled campaigns caused the system to freeze.

  • Updated Campaign Analytics metrics to display unique opens without including interactions such as clicks or unsubscribes.


Filtering

New Feature: Advanced Filtering

We’re excited to introduce Advanced Filtering, designed to provide users with greater control and flexibility. This powerful new feature supports both AND/OR operators and an enhanced, more intuitive interface to streamline filtering and data segmentation. This feature is now available for early access - contact our team to get access!

Feature Highlights:

  • Enhanced Control: Combine multiple conditions using AND/OR operators for highly tailored search results.

  • New Filter options: Filter contacts by List membership, Key Contacts and Created Date to easily find the right contacts

  • User-Friendly Interface: Enjoy a streamlined, intuitive experience, making it easy to build complex queries with ease.

New Beta Feature: Review Contacts Tab in My Contacts

Introducing the Review Contacts tab (Beta) — a new feature designed to streamline how fee earners manage and action their new contacts directly within My Contacts in Nexl. This tab provides a dedicated space for reviewing and organizing new contacts, making it easier to stay on top of client relationships.

Feature Highlights:

  • Efficient Contact Review: Quickly review and take action on newly added contacts in a centralized location.

  • Seamless Integration: The tab integrates directly within My Contacts for easy access and smoother workflows.

This feature is currently in beta and requires setup within your Nexl instance, so it’s not enabled by default. Limited to the first 5 early adopters — contact our team to secure your spot and gain early access.


Managing Companies

New Feature: Multiple Company Office Locations

With this release, Nexl now supports the ability to create and manage multiple office locations for each company. This enhancement enables law firms to more accurately represent their clients’ organizational structures, providing a clearer view of where each contact is based.

Feature Highlights:

  • Multi-Office Setup: Users can add multiple office locations under each company profile, ensuring an accurate representation of clients' office networks.

  • Contact Lists: Office Locations of Contacts is now also available in Contact Lists. The fields are available both individually and as the full address in Contact Lists for ease of use. The fields can be exported from Contact Lists.

  • Contact Association: Contacts can now be assigned to specific office locations individually or in bulk through Data Cleaner, allowing for consistent management of contact locations.

  • Enhanced Reporting: This feature provides more precise data insights on contact distribution across various office locations.

Other Improvements:

  • Added support for associating contacts with company office addresses, using Google for validation and quick population.

  • Updated the empty state for company sliders to include an "Add Contact" button for easier contact addition.

  • Admin users can now update or remove custom logos for companies. The "Update Company Logo" option is available under the "Actions" menu.

  • Enhanced support for multi-company types, allowing multiple types per company with:

    • Selection of multiple company types, with at least one required.

    • Improved display in sliders, lists, and referral modules.

    • Full audit trail tracking of type changes.

Bugs:

  • Fixed an issue preventing contact updates when moved within a company hierarchy due to unnecessary front-end validation.


Mobile

Our Nexl mobile app has had some significant improvements over the last few months, including a user experience overhaul and the addition of some very useful generative AI features to supercharge your fee earner’s efficiency in client outreach. More information about getting started…

New Feature: Generative AI tools for Fee Earners

  1. Summarized Contact Activity: Generate a concise summary of interactions with any contact, including key information and recent activities, all summarized on one page.

  2. AI-Powered Follow-Up Emails on Nexl Mobile: After meeting with clients and contacts, you can now use Nexl Mobile to seamlessly create follow-up tasks and generate draft emails in seconds, thanks to our new AI-powered automation. This feature streamlines your follow-up process, helping you stay connected and responsive with minimal effort.

AI can be Disabled: We can allow AI features to be disabled, supporting clients hesitant to enable Generative AI features.

Other Improvements:

  • Fixed a bug where "Log Key Activity" from Meetings did not display participants in the company activities section. Participants now appear consistently.

  • Resolved an issue with Opportunities not appearing under company profiles in the mobile app.


Nexl Administration

New Feature: Custom User Roles

Nexl now supports Custom User Roles, allowing your firm to create and manage roles tailored to your specific needs. This feature enhances flexibility in user management, helping you to ensure that each team member has the appropriate permissions and access.

Not available immediately: Note that this feature is not available automatically, it must be configured by your Nexl team to set this up for your firm.

Feature Highlights:

  • Role Customization: Design roles that align with your firm’s unique requirements.

  • Granular Permissions: Assign specific permissions to each custom role, supporting secure and efficient team management. Initially these permissions are limited, but these will be expanded over time.

  • Scalable User Management: Easily adapt roles as team responsibilities evolve.

New Feature: Data Cleaner Filters and Saved Searches

We’re excited to announce two powerful updates to Nexl’s Data Cleaner: Advanced Filters and Views, designed to make data management more efficient and actionable.

Advanced Filters

Admins can now apply customizable filters to deeply analyze contacts and companies.

  • Filter Criteria: Sort by interaction frequency, missing data points, creation date, and more.

  • Bulk Actions: Easily archive, restore, delete, or update multiple records at once. Bulk updates fields like Contact Location and Contact Office Location records at once.

Views

Save your most frequently used filters for easy access.

  • Create Tabs: Saved searches appear as tabs alongside "All Contacts" for quick navigation.

  • Efficiency: Avoid repetitive filtering by reusing saved searches.

  • Customization: Personalize tabs to align with team goals (e.g., "High-Priority Contacts").

These features simplify data cleanup, improve organization, and save valuable time.

Other Improvements:

Contact Switcher: Improved performance when delegating access and switching to a new user, reducing wait times and eliminating the need to log off for access changes.


Comments

  • Enhanced Comment notifications will display a preview of the comment in the email. Notifications now link directly to the relevant thread, and clicking on multiple notifications will open the dashboard with the notification popup displayed.


Kanban Board

  • Added a tooltip indicating a limit of 50 cards per column in the "My Opportunities" Kanban view.

  • Enhanced Kanban board performance for a smoother experience.


Importing and Exporting

  • Updated "My Contacts" exports to display user-specific interaction data, ensuring only the exporting user's interactions are shown.

  • Enhanced the UI of the upload screen when adding attachments, documents, and images.

  • Allowed importing of custom field values containing commas by using semicolons as value separators.


Forms

  • Recommended dimensions for cover photos were added to avoid cropping issues, and form statuses now reflect updates to cover photos (added, updated, or deleted).


Global Navigation

  • Renamed navigation sections: "Contacts" to "My Contacts," "Companies" to "My Companies," and "Lists" to "My Lists" for improved clarity and personalization.

  • Introduced a pin option for the left menu, allowing it to remain expanded and retain its position after page refreshes.


Objectives

  • Added an archive filter for "My/All Objectives," while Workspace Objectives remain unchanged.


Prospecting

  • Companies tagged as "Prospect" now appear in the Company Prospect listing under "All Prospects" and "Pipeline -> Prospecting," aligning with functionality for single-company types.


Stay In Touch

  • Fixed an issue where setting "Stay in Touch" for a contact from "All Contacts" did not add it to "My Contacts."


Tasks

Improvements:

  • Added functionality to display the user who completed a task, improving transparency for completed tasks.

Bugs:

  • Resolved a timezone issue causing tasks created with today's date to incorrectly appear under "Upcoming" instead of "Due Today."
