What are Company Research Reports?
Company Research Reports are AI‑assisted, multi‑section research documents you generate directly from Nexl for any company in your database.
Each report:
Is made up of multiple sections (e.g. company overview, financials, competitors, in‑house team, litigation history).
Uses AI to draft content from selected data sources.
Is then reviewed, edited, and verified by you or your team.
Can be shared as a secure link or downloaded as a PDF.
These reports are designed to streamline the process of drafting company research briefs to support:
Partners preparing for client meetings
BD teams evaluating opportunities
Research teams tracking companies of interest
Instead of manually gathering information from scattered sources and assembling in Word or PowerPoint, you can generate a tailored report all within Nexl and then refine it as needed.
Where does the information come from?
Company Research Reports can use three main types of sources:
Public web content
Nexl uses a trusted AI‑powered web research service to gather up‑to‑date public information about a company (for example, from company websites, financial news, and trusted business information providers). The web research encompasses investigating SEC and S&P Capital IQ data, on top of general open web research. This capability will continuously be developed in the future.Uploaded files
You can upload your own PDF research documents (for example, exports from Westlaw, Bloomberg, Manzama, or other services). The AI will summarise and structure the content into report sections.Nexl relationship data
Nexl adds relationship intelligence so you can see:Who in your firm has the strongest relationships with this company
Who has recently met or communicated with key contacts
This combination of sources gives you a richer, more actionable picture than any single system alone.

Reviewing and verifying your report
Company Research Reports are starting points, not final legal or financial opinions. It is essential that:
Every section is reviewed by a human before being shared.
You check facts and figures against trusted sources.
Any AI‑generated text is adapted to your firm’s style and risk requirements.
Some tips:
Treat AI text like a first draft that you would normally write yourself.
Use your firm’s house style for tone, disclaimers, and attributions.
Consider adding an internal note when a section is based primarily on web research versus internal or premium sources.
Sharing and exporting reports
Once your report has been created and verified, you can:
Share a secure link
Generate a shareable link for internal stakeholders (e.g. partners, BD colleagues).
Depending on your firm’s policies, you may also be able to share links externally with clients or prospects.
Download as PDF
Export the report as a PDF to:
Attach to emails
Include in pitch packs or decks
