This quick‑start guide shows you where to find Nexl AI, what it can do, and how to get value in minutes.

What is Nexl AI?

  • AI Chat: A conversational assistant in the top banner that can reference your firm’s Nexl CRM data (read‑only), external sources (filings, market/news, open web where available), and your uploaded files.

  • AI Research Reports: A structured, reusable company brief generated from a Company’s Research tab, combining your Nexl CRM data with external sources and optional uploaded files.

Where to find it in Nexl

  • AI Chat: Top banner, available from any page.

    Type questions or use voice input (approx. 2‑minute capture per session). You can attach files to enrich context.

  • AI Research Reports: Open a Company record → Research tab → Create new report.

Three‑step quick start

  1. Open AI Chat and start a new thread named after your client or matter (for example, “Acme Corp – Pitch prep”).

  2. State a focused goal and guide sources. Example: “Using our CRM and recent filings, summarise BD‑relevant changes for Acme Corp in the last 6 months; include links to all sources used.”

  3. Attach a key document (pitch deck, memo, or brief) and ask the AI Chat follow‑up questions to refine the output. Then head across to the Company record and generate a Research Report from the Company’s Research tab to create a reusable brief.

Best‑practice tips

  • Create one chat thread per client or matter to keep context focused and conversation memory relevant.

  • Use prompt cues to steer tools: “using the CRM…”, “search the web…”, “include filings where available…”.

  • Upload files early so the assistant can reference them in subsequent questions.

  • Use voice input in AI Chat for quick capture; each session records roughly 2 minutes and pauses after short silence.

What you can ask (examples)

  • “Find companies named Acme in London in the Technology sector.”

  • “Who at our firm knows Jane Doe at Acme Corp? Include last interaction dates.”

  • “Using CRM and recent news, summarise developments for Acme Corp in the last quarter; add links to sources.”

Key limitations and scope

  • Read‑only for CRM data: Nexl AI cannot create, edit, or delete CRM records.

  • Permissions: Answers reflect your user access. Colleagues may see different results based on permissions.

  • Files: Common formats supported (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, TXT, CSV, JSON, PNG, JPG) up to 4 MB per file.

  • Citations: External answers aim to include links to filings, market data, or articles. For critical use, review the linked sources.

Nexl AI Chat vs. Support chat

  • Nexl AI Chat: For client, matter, and market insights using CRM, external sources, and uploaded files.

  • Support chat: For product help, account questions, or reporting issues. It does not access your firm’s CRM data for analysis.
