When working with campaigns, you may need to download the HTML version of your email for review, backup, or customization. Depending on the campaign’s status—Sent, Scheduled, or Draft—your options will differ.
This guide walks you through the process of downloading HTML files from campaigns and explains what you can and cannot edit based on the campaign status.

Open it to review your email’s structure and content.

Access the Campaign
In draft mode, you can make changes to your email template. For instance, you can insert images, change button names, and modify content.
After making modifications, you can download the HTML. The newly downloaded HTML will reflect all recent changes in the template.

Important: Downloading HTML produces a snapshot of the template at that moment. If you edit a Draft campaign after downloading, you must download the HTML again to get a file that includes those changes.
Saving a campaign as PDF format in a single page
You can save a Nexl Engage Campaign or Template either from your email client such as Outlook or via the Browser. We have provided the details for Outlook and via Browser in this help article
Option 1: Save an email as PDF via Outlook
Open the email message you want to save as a PDF.
In the message window, click on the "..." (More options) button to reveal additional actions.
Select "Print" from the dialog box that appears.
In the pop-up window, select "Print" once more.
In the dialog box, set "Destination" to "Save as PDF."
Select "All" or "Custom" for the pages you wish to include.
Click the dropdown arrow next to "More Settings."
Choose your preferred paper size.
Adjust options like paper size, pages per sheet, margins, and scale as needed.
Within the "Options" checkbox, you can enable:
Headers and Footers
Background Graphics
When you’re happy with the preview, click "Save."
Rename the file and choose your desired location to save it.
Your email is now saved as a PDF!
Option 2: Save an email as PDF via view in a browser.
Begin by sending yourself an email from the campaign.
Open the email in Outlook, then click on "View in Browser."
Right-click anywhere on the page and choose "Print."
In the print dialog, "Destination," select "Save as PDF."
Choose either "All" or "Custom" for the pages you want to include.
Select either "Portrait" or "Landscape" for the layout orientation.
Click on the dropdown arrow for "More Settings."
Select the preferred paper size.
Adjust settings such as paper size, pages per sheet, margins, and scale as needed.
In the "Options" checkbox, you can select:
Headers and Footers
Background Graphics
Once satisfied with the preview, click "Save."
Rename the file and select your preferred location to save it.
Your email is now saved as a PDF file.
NOTE: If emails are too long, please select the appropriate settings in "More settings" to adjust it.
Saving a campaign in multi-page PDF format
Step 1: Save Your Campaign as HTML
Begin by saving your preferred campaign in HTML format following the guide provided above. This will allow you to view it in a web browser.
Step 2: Open the HTML File
Locate the saved HTML file and open it. This should automatically launch in your default web browser.
Step 3: Access the Print Dialog
Once the campaign is displayed in your browser, right-click anywhere on the page (but not on the campaign content).
Step 4: Select Print
From the context menu that appears, select the "Print" option. This will open the Print dialog box.
Step 5: Configure Print Settings
In the Print dialog box, configure the following settings:
Printer: Select "Save as PDF" from the list of printers.
Layout: Choose either Portrait or Landscape, depending on your preference.
Pages:
Select "All" to print the entire campaign,
Choose "Odd pages only" or "Even pages only" if needed,
Alternatively, enter specific page numbers for custom selections.
Step 6: Adjust More Settings
Click on "More settings" to access additional options:
Paper size: Select the desired paper size (e.g., Letter, Legal).
Scale (%): Set to 100% or adjust as needed to fit your content.
Pages per sheet: Choose how many pages you want to print per sheet if applicable.
Margins: Adjust margins according to your layout preferences.
Enable background graphics: Check this option if your campaign design includes background color, images or graphics.
Step 7: Save Your PDF
Once you have configured all settings to your satisfaction, click on the "Save" button. Choose the destination on your computer where you want to save the PDF file, and name it appropriately.
