How to Effectively Use Notes and History Features for Opportunities

Getting the most out of Opportunity History and Record notes on Opportunities

Introduction

In order to enhance your experience with Opportunities and ensure a more organised and streamlined workflow, we've introduced Notes and History features for Opportunities. This article will guide you through effectively utilizing the Notes and History features to keep track of the evolution of your opportunities over time.

1. Capturing important opportunity details with Notes

  • What: The Notes feature allows you to document key details, discussions, and updates related to an opportunity.

  • How: Navigate to the Opportunity from either My Opportunities or Firmwide Opportunities by clicking the Company name on the Opportunity and locate the "Notes" section. Here, you can input your observations, discussions, and any other relevant information.

  • Tip: To maintain clarity, structure your notes with key points and use bullet points or numbering. Avoid excessive text to ensure easy readability. One important use case for Notes is to record next steps and actions to take with regards to an opportunity and sharing with the team for better Collaboration.

2. Structured History for Better Visibility and Audit Tracking

  • What: The History table offers a chronological display of activities associated with an opportunity.

  • How: Navigate to the Opportunity from either My Opportunities or Firmwide Opportunities by clicking the Company name on the Opportunity and locate the "Hisotry" section.

  • Tip: Utilize the History view to identify patterns, spot trends, and understand the progression of the opportunity over time.

Notes:

  • Opportunity History is currently in Beta. At the moment, contact and employee fields history is not available. We will be adding these fields in a future update

  • Opportunity History is captured on changes since 1-Feb-2024 only

3. Sharing Individual Opportunities

  • What: The Opportunity Slider Share button provides easy access to Share Opportunities with team members

  • How: Navigate to the Opportunity from either My Opportunities or Firmwide Opportunities by clicking the Company name on the Opportunity and locate the "Share"

  • Tip: Copy the url and share the link with the team. They will be redirected to the Opportunity if they have an account on Nexl.
